Australian children’s content to screen at international film festival

Four shows supported by the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) have been selected to screen at the prestigious Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.

The teen drama More Than This, streaming on Paramount+, and the factual adventure program Red Dirt Riders, available to stream on iview, have been chosen to screen in the Live Action TV category.

Preschool series Kangaroo Beach (ABC Kids and iview) and Little J & Big Cuz (ABC and NITV) will screen in the Animated TV category.

Now in its 39th year, the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival is the largest children’s film festival in the world, showcasing content from over 50 countries.

The CICFF aims to set an internationally recognised standard of excellence in film and television production for children. Prizes will be awarded across all categories.

ACTF Head of Content Bernadette O’Mahony said: “The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival presents the highest quality, most innovative international content for kids, teens and young adults, and it is a huge honour to be chosen to be screened. Congratulations to the talented and hardworking teams whose programs have been selected!”

The festival will take place in person and online from 4-20 November.
